Shoppers Row Mechanics and Survival

Shopper's Row

Shopper's Row is one of the most brutal part of the early game (sometimes mid-game too), especially for non-spenders and people without the protection of big alliances.

It gets even nastier on some servers with all the top spots occupied by one toxic player or a predatory alliance, essentially denying others participation.

The good thing is you can survive it and still get to a point where you get enough credentials to buy out the entire shop. Also if you wish, you can fight back at some point if you have a couple of bold and active friends.

The Mechanics

The stores give you income based on the level and potential of the talents occupied in the store. This "base income" is exactly one-thousandth of the value you see on your talents in Ape Siege or Guild dungeon. If the attack value in guild dungeon is 14.7K, that talent has a base income of 14.7/minute.

Each store has a bonus percentage too. So if your base income from the stationed talents is 100, a +5% store will give you 105, while a +110% store will give you 210.

Strategy

The best strategy to follow in shoppers row is to occupy your best shop with the best 6 talents you have. If you play as per the power-up-methods guide (please read it if you haven't), you would have more than 90% of your strength in your top 6 talents, and eventually get more than 90% of your income from this single shop. Someone weaker than you (and even most people who are stronger) would not be able to depose you from this shop.

Fighting Back the Hoarders

If you followed the power up guide, you will see that the asymmetry between a medium sized player and a top player isn't that big. A top player can take out all shops of the medium player with his best team. The medium player can usually take all stores except the best one of the top player too.

If you have a couple of friends, you can take out the stores of the hoarder and occupy them with your best talents. They will have to fight against each of you with their best team. If there are 4 people fighting a hoarder, they will have to expend 5 attacks while you expend one. It will get very expensive for them to keep fighting you back with their best team. Remember, you only have to defend one shop while they have to defend so many.

The entire top three rows and most of the top 4 rows were occupied by a single alliance in our server. Our alliance built up our strength and started occupying one store each, and in a month-and-half we were sitting in the cyclamen restaurant.
